ABSTRACT: This study addresses ethical issues in vocational education research, aiming to identify ethical challenges, principles, and guidelines for conducting research in vocational settings. Ethical considerations are crucial in safeguarding participants' rights, ensuring research integrity, and upholding professional standards in educational research. The objectives were to (1) analyze ethical dilemmas and concerns specific to vocational education research, (2) examine existing ethical guidelines and frameworks in educational research, and (3) propose strategies to address ethical issues in vocational education research practices. A survey research design was employed to gather insights from researchers, educators, and institutional review board members, exploring their perspectives on ethical challenges and practices in vocational research. The sample size included 150 participants, selected through purposive sampling to include stakeholders from vocational institutions and research bodies across Nigeria. The case study focused on Ogun State, recognized for its ethical research practices and supportive regulatory frameworks. Findings highlighted ethical dilemmas such as informed consent, confidentiality, and researcher bias in vocational research. Effective strategies included training on research ethics, establishing ethical review boards, and adhering to international ethical standards. Recommendations included developing tailored ethical guidelines for vocational research, enhancing transparency in research practices, and promoting ethical awareness among researchers and stakeholders.
